Subjectivity is a central concept in film theory, philosophy and cultural studies. It was also a key term in the reception of the Nouvelle Vague film movement in France and Italy from the start of 1945. Für diese Studie zur Scheinselbständigkeit (in Kooperation mit dem Bundesministerium für Arbeit und Soziales) hat das IAB 4.500 Personen zu ihrer Erwerbstätigkeit und sozialen Lage befragt. Die quantitative Untersuchung greift zur Bestimmung von Scheinselbständigkeit auf ein Rechtsgutachten von Professor Dr. Wank (Ruhr-Universität Bochum) zurück, das die aktuelle Rechtsprechung sowie die relevante Rechtsliteratur aufarbeitet und die empirische Analyse fundiert. Die Studie beantwortet drei Kernfragen: Wie verbreitet ist das Phänomen der Scheinselbständigkeit? Wer ist davon betroffen bzw. wie sind Scheinselbständige erwerbstätig? Welcher Zusammenhang besteht zwischen dem rechtlichen Status und dem Erwerbseinkommen?

Should court officers cause damage to third parties in performance of their duties, these damages are often claimed as public law cases in which the responsibilities are transferred to the state. The liability of public authorities according to § 839 section 1 sentence 1 German Civil Code in conjunction with Art. 34 sentence 1 German Basic Law is part of state liability law. However, public liability law is a Janus-faced area of legal material. Systematically, it belongs to administrative law, and by that to public law. Nonetheless, a government liability suit is a civil courts domain. When it comes to public liability suits, there are many intrinsic issues arising from special rules of civil courts jurisdiction in these matters. The examination at hand enlightens - by no means exhaustive - questions prior to public liability cases and specific problem constellations in matters of admissibility and merits of legal action for public liability claims.

In diesem Buch untersucht die Autorin das Thema Schamdynamiken in der stationären Betreuung Jugendlicher, indem sie ethnographisch erhobene Interaktionsverläufe und qualitative Interviews interpretiert. Es werden verschiedene Fälle analysiert, in denen unter anderem das Spannungsfeld der emotionalen Belastung von Fachkräften und ihre pädagogischen Handlungsspielräume eine Rolle spielen. Außerdem gibt die Studie Aufschluss über den Umgang mit der Ausübung von Gewalt aus der Sicht Jugendlicher oder mit den Folgen suizidalen Verhaltens. Der Ausdruck von Scham durch die Jugendlichen, der Fachkräfte sowie auch das Schamempfinden der Forschenden sind hierbei Anhaltspunkte, von denen aus Kontraste und strukturelle Zusammenhänge in den Daten gefunden werden. Bei der Interpretation werden soziologische Affekttheorien einbezogen, die betonen, dass ein dichotomes Verständnis von Affekten als nur positiv oder negativ deren komplexer Funktion nicht gerecht wird. Damit leistet das Buch einen Beitrag zum Verstehen des sozialen Sinns von Affekten und macht die Affektforschung für die Sozialpädagogik fruchtbar.

This open access book is the first comprehensive overview of maritime or marine spatial planning. Countries across the globe are beginning to implement maritime spatial plans; however the authors of this collection have identified several key questions that are emerging from this growing body of MSP experience. How can maritime spatial planning deal with a complex and dynamic environment such as the sea? How can MSP be embedded in multiple levels of governance across regional and national borders – and how far does the environment benefit from this new approach? This book actively engages with the problems encapsulated in these questions, and explores possible solutions. The Other Women's Lib provides the first systematic analysis of Japanese literary feminist discourse of the 1960s - a full decade before the "women's lib" movement emerged in Japan. It highlights the work of three well-known female writers of avant-garde fiction from this generation: Kono Taeko, Takahashi Takako, and Kurahashi Yumiko. Focusing on four tropes persistently employed by these writers to protest oppressive gender stereotypes - the disciplinary masculine gaze, feminist misogyny, "odd bodies," and female homoeroticism - Julia Bullock brings to the fore their previously unrecognized theoretical contributions to second-wave radical feminist discourse. The Other Women's Lib affords a cogent and incisive analysis of these texts as feminist philosophy in fictional form. It will be accessible to undergraduate audiences and deeply stimulating to scholars and others interested in gender and culture in postwar Japan, Japanese women writers, or Japanese feminism.

Weather stations for biodiversity: a comprehensive approach to an automated and modular monitoring system

This volume contains the edition of 42 Egyptian documentary papyri from the 5th–8th century AD including translations as well as historical and philological commentary. The texts were written in Greek or Coptic, but the volume also comprises bilingual Greek-Coptic documents and an Arabic-Greek protocol. These multifaceted papyri, such as administrative, legal and tax documents, allow precious glimpses into the society of the late antique Nile Valley and produce important new evidence for the underexplored transition period from Byzantine to Islamic rule in Egypt.

The volumes present the essays of a group of Spanish Language and Literature academics at Italian universities and another group of Italian Language and Literature professors at Spanish universities. All of them dedicate their investigations to literary translation, from the theoretical and practical point of view, focusing on the problem of linguistic variation. Throughout texts belonging to different ages, from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance to the twenty-first century, the essays address different aspects of translation from Spanish into Italian and vice versa, and from Italian into Catalan, underlying how the dialogue between Spain and Italy is still very topical.

This study examines from multiple disciplinary perspectives the phenomenon of how knowledge was transformed and transmitted between late antiquity and the Early Middle Ages. The essays explore the ways that excerpting, compiling, and selective transmission resulted in a reduction of complexity.
