In today's globalized economies, the complexity of supply chains spans multiple countries, creating new challenges for the protection and enforcement of intellectual property (IP) rights. Innovation processes, which drive the production of increasingly sophisticated goods, rely heavily on a combination of IP rights such as patents and trademarks. These bundled IP rights not only reflect the complexity of modern products but also offer enhanced protection for rights holders. However, the participation of various economies, each with differing levels of IP respect and enforcement, leaves global supply chains vulnerable to IP infringement. Illicit trade in IP-infringing goods is a growing concern, with data showing an increase in both the scope and magnitude of this issue. IP-intensive industries are particularly affected by this threat, which exploits modern trade solutions, such as fast parcel services and containerized maritime transport, as well as the online marketplace – an issue that has been exacerbated since the COVID-19 pandemic. Patent enforcement in the context of illicit trade remains challenging, but the bundling of IP rights can offer a strategic advantage. Companies often choose to enforce the most effective IP rights, such as trademarks, to combat the infringement, as these may offer more practical enforcement mechanisms.

Questions of gender identity were just as pressing 300 years ago as they are today. This is not a discussion of whether Ludvig Holberg (1684–1754) was queer. Rather, it is the premise for demonstrating how, in his deeply original authorship in the first half of the 18th century, he wrote forth a transgressive public persona in dialogue with the gender codes of his time. Starting from depictions of “strange love” in Holberg’s most misunderstood work, Metamorphosis (1726), we follow Holberg’s playful and daring engagement with homosocial motifs and “obscene” ambiguities—his fascination with gender and sexuality and his circling around the one, unnameable sin. The resonance he used was that of ancient sexuality, set against the Enlightenment’s masculine, bourgeois national patriarchy. Holberg’s secret was not something he wanted to take to the grave—it was an open, demonstrative riddle he articulated again and again, as clearly as was culturally and aesthetically possible for him.

Sudden cardiac death is a global health threat for which we have only partial answers. With growing elucidation of the underlying pathophysiological mechanisms of sudden cardiac death, better patient identification and treatment options are being developed. These include risk stratification paradigms, ICD therapy, pharmacological options, ablative procedures, and other treatments. This book covers many of these options, including defibrillator technology and clinical applications. It also examines pathophysiological pathways and etiologies as well as highlights risk-stratification in ion channel diseases and structural heart disease such as dilated cardiomyopathy.

Neuroblastoma (NBL) is the most common extracranial solid tumor of childhood, with about 700 new cases of neuroblastoma seen each year in the United States. The 5-year survival rate for children with high-risk NBL is only 50-60%, and this survival rate has not improved over the last 10 years. High-risk patients receive multimodality treatment, including chemotherapy, surgery, radiation therapy, biologic therapy and immunotherapy, all of which are associated with significant morbidity. Recent years have seen many advances in treatment of neuroblastoma, including therapeutic MIBG, immunotherapy, and personalized targeted therapy based on the genetic alterations seen in the tumor. The primary objective of this book is to provide the readers with a comprehensive review of neuroblastoma, from clinical aspects and the currently available treatment to recent advancements and future directions in the field of NBL treatment. The topics and chapters have been compiled keeping in mind a diverse group of readers in different areas of specialty such as pediatric oncology, surgery, radiation oncology, and immunology, as well as physician scientists and basic researchers working in the field of neuroblastoma.

This Special Issue, entitled “Nutraceuticals and Functional Foods: Bridging Health and Food Under a New Perspective”, aims to approach the current state-of-the-art research on nutraceuticals and functional foods. The main issue in this field of research is the sustainability and recovery of bioactive substances from vegetal- or animal-origin byproducts to project and realize novel food supplements and nutraceuticals. Low environmental impact, safety, new food sources and analytical methodologies are of growing interest in the research area of food. The perspective approach addresses the mechanism of action of nutraceuticals, safety and functional foods and nutraceuticals’ mechanisms of action, revealing new possibilities for their use as tools in a complementary proactive approach to certain health issues to prevent the onset of health conditions or to be used in subjects who do not qualify for a conventional therapeutical approach. The areas involved in this perspective range from food chemistry and analysis to nutrition and from safety to sustainability; new therapeutical approaches and novel techniques of analysis and formulation are also involved, which require a wide inter- and multi-disciplinary approach. The overall assessment of these aspects creates new challenges for research and also impacts sustainability, health and safety. This Special Issue may also consider the bridging of health and food in their different declinations from a new perspective.

In the last two decades, the quest for a widely accepted definition of social enterprise has been a central issue in a great number of publications. The main objective of the ICSEM Project on which this book is based was to show that the social enterprise field would benefit much more from linking conceptualisation efforts to the huge diversity of social enterprises than from an additional and ambitious attempt at providing an encompassing definition. Starting from a hypothesis that could be termed "the impossibility of a unified definition", the ICSEM research strategy relied on bottom-up approaches to capture the social enterprise phenomenon in its local and national contexts. This strategy made it possible to take into account and give legitimacy to locally embedded approaches, while simultaneously allowing for the identification of major social enterprise models to delineate the field on common grounds at the international level. Social Enterprise in Western Europe –the third volume in a series of four ICSEM-based books on social enterprise worldwide – will serve as a key reference and resource for teachers, researchers, students, experts, policy makers, journalists and others who want to acquire a broad understanding of the social enterprise and social entrepreneurship phenomena as they emerge and develop in this region.

Ont contribué à l ’ouvrage John Barzman, John Belchem, Peter Berkowitz, Manfred Bock, Friedhelm Boll, Rémy Cazals, Jean-Claude Daumas, Jacques Delors, Gita Deneckere, Marie-Geneviève Dezès, Karl Ditt, Michel Dreyfus, Marlene Ellerkamp, Allan Fowler, Marie-Louise Goergen, Rebecca Gumbrell, Karl H. The Routledge Companion to Transnational Web Archive Studies explores the untapped potential of web archives for researching transnational digital history and communication. It covers cross- border, cross- collection, and cross- institutional examination of web archives on a global scale. This comprehensive collaborative work, emerging from the WARCnet research network, presents an exploration of the ways web archive research can transcend technological and legal challenges to allow for new comparative, transnational studies of the web’s pasts, and of global events. By combining interdisciplinary work and fostering collaboration between web archivists and researchers, the book provides readers with cutting- edge approaches to analyzing digital cultural heritage across countries. The book contains concrete examples on how to research national web domains through a transnational perspective; provides case studies with grounded explorations of the COVID- 19 crisis as a distinctly transnational event captured by web archives; offers methodological considerations while unpacking techniques and skill sets for conducting transnational web archive research; and critically engages the politics and power dynamics inherent to web archives as institutionalised collections. The Routledge Companion to Transnational Web Archive Studies is an essential read for graduate students and scholars from internet and media studies, cultural studies, history, and digital humanities. It will also appeal to web archiving practitioners, including librarians, web curators, and IT developers.

Forced population movements are a defining feature of almost any humanitarian crisis, shaping the design, targeting, and delivery of emergency responses. This book investigates how the evolving situation of different forced migrants is accounted for and addressed in humanitarian action in order to improve their access to support and assistance. Bringing together case studies from Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Pacific, this book focuses on a diversity of operational modalities and types of assistance provided by both traditional and non-traditional humanitarian actors to address the specific needs of displaced children, women, people with disabilities and older people, as well as trafficked migrant workers. This book adopts a broad perspective on humanitarian action, acknowledging how its boundaries are challenged and expanded in forced migration contexts. Its operational and theoretical insights will be useful for a range of readers, from humanitarian and migration researchers and students to practitioners and policymakers.
