Miasta narażone są na nadmierną konsumpcję zasobów, nadprodukcję odpadów oraz koncentrację negatywnych efektów działalności człowieka. Książka EkoMiasto#Środowisko stara się odpowiedzieć na powyższe, jakże aktualne i ważne problemy gospodarowania środowiskiem w mieście. Jej ideą przewodnią jest określenie roli środowiska i jego jakości w kontekście świadczonych usług ekosystemowych, działań adaptacyjnych i mitygacyjnych oraz zapewnienia trwałości rozwoju miast.W książce miasto traktowane jest jako specyficzny, złożony i kompleksowy ekosystem, którego istotą są ścisłe relacje i zależności między sferami: przyrodniczą, społeczną, gospodarczą oraz instytucjonalną. W tym kontekście wskazano założenia zrównoważonego rozwoju miasta oraz współczesne wyzwania i cele. Ważnym aspektem podejmowanych rozważań jest kwestia wartości środowiska oraz metod wyceny zasobów środowiska.W dalszej części publikacji skoncentrowano się na problematyce współodpowiedzialnego, zasobooszczędnego i innowacyjnego gospodarowania środowiskiem. Dokonano identyfikacji uwarunkowań oraz przeglądu rozwiązań konkretnych problemów, takich jak: zapewnienie bezpieczeństwa ekologicznego, adaptacja terenów zurbanizowanych do zmian klimatu czy rozwój gospodarki niskoemisyjnej.Ostatnie rozdziały poświęcono nowoczesnym narzędziom zarządzania środowiskiem oraz monitorowania i prognozowania zmian środowiskowych na terenach zurbanizowanych. This study estimated how much ballast water ships can produce in the Gulf of Antalya, an important port city in the Mediterranean. The data used in the calculation was obtained from AIS (Automatic Identification System) of the ships arriving in Antalya Bay between 2018-2021. These ships' ballast water was determined with DWT (Deadweight tons) information using the methods given in the literature. It was calculated as a percentage of DWT according to ship types. As a result of the calculation, it has been determined that three to six million metric tons of ballast water produced in four years originates from bulk cargo ships. In addition, when other ship types are included in the Gulf of Antalya, it is evaluated that 7-12 million metric tons of ballast water may be produced, posing a severe threat to the Mediterranean ecosystem.

Writing to Cardinal Newman in 1872, Arnold said that there are four people, 'in especial', from whom he had learned habits: Goethe, Wordsworth, Saint-Beuve, and Newman himself. His notebooks and reading lists confirm a deep and lifelong engagement with Goethe's work, which was just beginning to be discovered by early Victorian English writers. This book, originally published in paperback in 1979 under the ISBN 978-0-900547-52-2, was made Open Access in 2024 as part of the MHRA Revivals programme.

The year 2021 saw the publication of the Special Issue “"Diseases of the Salivary Glands" (https://www.mdpi.com/journal/jcm/special_issues/Salivary_Glands), Part I, covering recent and novel advancements as well as future trends in the field of research evaluating diagnostic and therapeutic treatment of salivary gland (SGs) diseases. Given the enormous success of Part I, the Special Issue “Diseases of the Salivary Glands” Part II has been launched, with the firm belief that it will enrich the panorama of world research in this field. Topics include: 1) Clinical features and presentation of potentially malignant SG disorders; 2) Risk factors and etiopathogenesis of SGs tumors; 3) Etiopathogenesis and molecular mechanisms involved in the chronic inflammatory condition characterizing Sjӧgren’s syndrome; 4) New discoveries in the field of micro RNAs associated with Sjӧgren’s syndrome; 5) Molecular markers linked to development and progression of SG diseases: current knowledge and future implications; 6) More innovative techniques for the study of the SG diseases: current limitations and future directions.

Na osnove psichiatričeskich kriteriev vydeleny takie tipy tekstov, kak "svetlye", "tëmnye", "pečal'nye", "vesëlye", "krasivye". Rabota napisana na materiale bol'šogo količestva tekstov russkoj i mirovoj literatury v rusle psichopoetiki i psichostilistiki i predstavljaet novoe napravlenie v analize chudožestvennogo teksta - psichiatričeskoe literaturovedenie.

In diesem Open-Access-Buch werden anhand einer kommunikationsanalytischen Studie unterschiedliche Konzepte der Ausbildenden und der Auszubildenden für die Unterrichtsnachbesprechung rekonstruiert. Die Unterrichtsnachbesprechung in der zweiten Phase der Lehrerausbildung gilt für viele Referendarinnen und Referendare als eine besondere Belastung innerhalb ihrer Ausbildung. Mit der Rekonstruktion der in NRW programmatischen Leitideen erwachsenenpädagogischer Prinzipien einerseits und den Positionierungen der Referendar:innen andererseits offenbaren sich diverse Spannungslagen in der Lehrer:innenbildung. Neben der strukturell angelegten Doppelfunktion der Ausbildung (Beratungund Beurteilung) sind es vor allem die unterschiedlichen Orientierungen der Beteiligten mit ihrer heterogenen Erwartungskultur, die die Kommunikation in Ausbildungskontexten stören.

This Special Issue of Atmosphere, “Atmospheric Aqueous-Phase Chemistry”, comprises ten original articles dealing with different aspects of chemistry in atmospheric liquid water. Liquid water in cloud and fog droplets and in moist aerosol particles is ubiquitous in the atmosphere. Dissolved species from the soluble aerosol fraction, as well as soluble trace gases, undergo chemical reactions in the aqueous phase via different mechanisms, usually yielding different products from those in the gas phase. In addition to their different reactivity, the chemical species solubility determines their fate in the atmosphere, i.e., their involvement in gas-phase or aqueous-phase chemistry.The articles of this Special Issue can be divided into three groups: (i) the first is mostly based on field measurements and/or combined field and modeling studies giving insights into the chemical characterization of different atmospheric liquid water samples from various environments; (ii) the second group is focused on studies of aqueous-phase reactivity of some important atmospheric organic compounds; and (iii) the final group comprises articles based on predictive modeling and/or combined modeling and laboratory studies providing insight into aqueous secondary organic aerosol (SOA) formation.

Auf dem Weg in die Berufstätigkeit standen Frauen aus dem Bürgertum lange Zeit vor allem pädagogische Berufe offen und da die meisten als Mädchen eine fundierte musikalische Ausbildung erhielten, lag Musikpädagogik nahe. Als Musik- und Gesangsinstitut, Musikakademie oder Gesangs- und Opernschule sind in Adressbüchern, Werbeanzeigen und weiteren Quellen des 19. und frühen 20. Jahrhunderts private Musikschulen omnipräsent, denn eine breite Nachfrage an Musikunterricht war - bis zum Siegeszug von Grammophon und Radio - stets vorhanden. In dieser gesellschaftlichen Ausgangslage eröffneten auch zahlreiche Frauen ihre eigenen Musikschulen, die mit Unterrichtsangebot und Konzerten ein fester Bestandteil des Musiklebens in Städten wie Leipzig, Dresden, Erfurt oder Halle waren. Zudem leisteten viele dieser Institutionen wichtige Beiträge bei der Professionalisierung von Musikpädagogik um die Jahrhundertwende. Dieses Buch trägt zur musikbezogenen Sozialgeschichte des Kaiserreichs neue gendersensible Einsichten bei: Neben berufs- und gesellschaftsgeschichtlichen Fragen zu den Musikschulleiterinnen und ihren Musikschulen steht auch die ökonomische Komponente von Musikkultur und Musikpädagogik im Fokus.

The Nordic model attracts attention in a mixture of applause and disbelief. Among its merits, but also a precondition to its future survival, is its capacity to modify and adapt to changing circumstances. This book scrutinizes Nordic – in particular Norwegian – working life and welfare states from the perspective of institutional change. The analyses range from property rights, boardroom politics and wage formation to old-age pensions, care work and childcare policies. What emerges is a picture of societies characterized by ongoing, often incremental, social and political reform processes. Tripartite relations of coordination and negotiation in the labor market and beyond, give shape to power relations and political processes in particular ways. The close connections between labour market, welfare state, family and gender policies work to create institutional bundles – in an even stronger way than assumed in the Varieties of Capitalism literature.The book is written for students and scholars with an interest in Nordic societies, in corporatism and political processes, as well as readers interested in theoretical debate on varieties of capitalism and institutional change.

This book gathers reviews and articles on the role of O-GlcNAcylation in cancer underlying the pharmacological targeting of the O-GlcNAcylation enzymes OGT and OGA as a promising anticancer strategy. Particular attention is paid to the involvement of O-GlcNAcylation in the regulation of transcription and as a link between nutrition and epigenetic dynamics or cellular energy metabolism. The role of O-GlcNAcylation in metastasis, immune responses, and resistance to chemotherapeutic agents is also discussed.

L’usage de la raison et de la foy ou l’accord de la foy et de la raison (1704) by Pierre-Sylvain Régis can be considered his last attempt to defend the ‘new philosophy’ of René Descartes by vindicating its agreement with faith and protecting it from censorship. This contribution offers an analysis of the theories expounded by Régis in this treatise, showing how these evolved from those of his earlier Système de philosophie (1690), and arguing that both are characterized by a reinterpretation of the Cartesian metaphysics on an empirical basis. In particular, Régis offered an empirical interpretation of the relations between substances, attributes and modes, by which he criticized Spinoza’s metaphysics and attempted to solve the riddle of Descartes’ dualism.

L’histoire de la mobilisation des municipalités autour de la question sportive est encore balbutiante. Cet ouvrage voudrait faire en sorte qu’elle le soit un peu moins. Deux questions sont à son origine : à quand remonte l’émergence des actions municipales favorables aux pratiques physiques et, plus particulièrement, aux sports ? À partir de quand ces actions relèvent-elles, stricto sensu, de « politiques publiques » des sports ? Une quinzaine de contributions, consacrées à Paris, Colombes, Toulouse, Strasbourg, Saint-Étienne, Angers, Vichy, Le Creusot, Montceau-les-Mines, Bègles, Carpentras, Saint-Brévin et Les Sables-d’Olonne, mais aussi à la Corse et aux petites communes drômoises et ardéchoises, apportent des éléments de réponse. Qu’apprend-on ? Que les actions municipales s’affirment dès le xixe siècle. Que les élus agissent, résolument, plus « par » le sport – pour travailler leur image, celle de leur ville, dynamiser l’économie locale – que « pour » le sport. Que la mobilisation des mairies est parfois très franche, conquérante même. Au final, cet ouvrage montre que la Belle Époque est une période clé d’incubation des politiques sportives municipales. Il invite donc à introduire la stimulation municipale parmi les facteurs favorisant l’essor du phénomène sportif des années 1850 à la Grande Guerre.

L'intertextualité avait fait l'objet en 2005-2006 de la session inaugurale du séminaire Approches Interdisciplinaires de la Lecture (AIL1). Si le concept demeure central pour appréhender le processus de création littéraire, peut-être n'est-il pas suffisant. L’arrière-texte entrevu en 2008-2009 serait-il le complément attendu et l’outil nécessaire pour penser la complexité ? Telle est la voie nouvelle explorée lors de la session 2009-2010 dans les deux domaines de la poésie et du roman. Les communications reprises dans le présent volume en restituent l’essentiel. L’arrière-texte procède, non de la théorie pure, mais de l’intuition d’écrivains nourris de deux cultures, russe et française. Il désigne tout ce qui se trouve en amont de la création littéraire, appréhendée selon ses deux versants auctorial et lectoral. On peut le concevoir comme le réseau d’associations présidant à l’effet littérature : associations verbales, sensorielles, cognitives, qui englobent et dépassent le phénomène d’intertextualité.
