En revanche, pour le spécialiste du langage et des langues, il s’agit sans conteste de l’exploit le plus remarquable dans une vie d’homme. La thèse du présent ouvrage prend à contrepied l’idée reçue dominante selon laquelle le moteur principal de l’acquisition de la langue maternelle serait l’imitation. In recent years, the world of finance and investments has changed, considering measures related to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors for socially responsible investments. ESG scoring and ratings are used to estimate ESG risk. This book presents ESG ratings and scorings and their providers and lists problems with data quality, data sources, and unknown methodology, contributing to the green- and social-washing ESG rating phenomenon. The value of assets invested in green instruments relies on high-quality ESG ratings to measure green transition. Data greenwashing negatively impacts the financial market, especially the stock price, fund activities, and bond markets. The size of the rated company, geographical location, and industry biases are considered in understanding the greenwashing phenomenon. This book illustrates all the problems related to ESG rating inflation, conflicts of interest, models of payment, and internal and external ratings. It describes current regulations, initiatives, and practical knowledge of ESG scoring. Academics and students of financial law, economics, and financial sustainability will find this book invaluable. Die in der kulturwissenschaftlichen Fernsehforschung verortete und literatur- mit medienwissenschaftlichen Ansätzen kombinierende Monographie untersucht die spanische und lateinamerikanische TV- und Streaming-Serie der letzten zwölf Jahre auf ihre narrativen Vermittlungsstrategien und die ihr inhärenten Mechanismen kollektiver Identitätsbildung. Diese Doppelperspektive fußt auf der Grundbeobachtung, dass die beiden komplementären Prinzipien von Serialität – Wiederholung und Innovation, das heißt statische Wiederkehr und dynamische Variation – sowohl für den seriellen Erzählvorgang als auch für die Entwicklung kulturellen Bewusstseins innerhalb des kollektiven Gedächtnisses konstitutiv sind. Geleitet wird die Untersuchung von der These, dass in der audiovisuellen Serie ein innerer Zusammenhang zwischen beiden Kategorien konstruiert wird und somit eine enge Verzahnung von discours- und histoire-Ebene besteht, sodass eine systematische Analyse nur in der Zusammenschau von Form- und Inhaltsstrukturen erfolgen kann. Aufgrund ihres medien- und kulturspezifischen Kontexts von Narration und kollektiver Identitätsstiftung erweist sich gerade die im globalen Vergleich durch die Forschung (trotz der jüngsten Netflix- Erfolge von Las chicas del cable und La casa de papel) weiterhin vernachlässigte spanischsprachige Serie als ergiebiges, neue Erkenntnisse versprechendes Analysefeld: Einerseits ist in Folge des schrittweisen Heraustretens aus der TV-Isolation nach Ende der Franco-Diktatur mit dem Paradigmenwechsel der 1990er Jahre von der geschlossenen Anthologieserie zum progressiven serial ein typologisches und narratologisches Aufschließen Spaniens zu internationalen Quality- TV-Formaten zu konstatieren. Ähnliches gilt im Hinblick auf die lateinamerikanische Serienland- schaft, für die neuerdings eine zunehmende Abkehr von telenovela-Produktionen zugunsten pro- gressiver Formate zu konstatieren ist. Andererseits schreibt sich noch immer eine Vielzahl aktueller TV- und Streaming-Serien spanischer und lateinamerikanischer Provenienz thematisch in dezidiert regionale oder nationale, folkloristische oder geschichtliche Handlungszusammenhänge ein, sodass sich diese in kohärenzstiftender Funktion in erster Linie an ein einheimisches Publikum in je unterschiedlich weiten (Sub-)Kollektiven zu richten scheinen. Diese besondere Konfiguration übergreifender Erzählkonventionen und gruppenspezifischer Erzählinhalte wird anhand von vier, für die Genrevielfalt der spanischsprachigen Serienlandschaft repräsentativen Werken analysiert: der phantastischen Kriminal- und Mysteryserie Luna, el misterio de Calenda (Antena 3, 2012– 2013), dem historischen biopic Isabel (TVE, 2012–2014), der historischen Science Fiction-Serie El ministerio del tiempo (TVE, 2015–2020) und der mexikanischen Drama-Serie Monarca (Netflix, 2019–2021).

This collection establishes the term ‘medical paratexts’ as a useful addition to medical humanities, book history, and literary studies research. As a relatively new field of study, little critical attention has been paid to medical paratexts. We understand paratext as the apparatus of graphic communication: title pages, prefaces, illustrations, marginalia, and publishing details which act as mediators between text and reader. Discussing the development of medical paratexts across scribal, print and digital media, the collection spans the medieval period to the twenty-first century. Dissecting the Page is structured in two thematic sections, underpinned by a shared examination of ideas of medical and lay readership and a history of reader response. The first section focuses on the production, reception, and use of medical texts. The second section analyses the role and significance of authority, access, and dissemination in discussions of health, medicine, and illness, for both lay and medical readerships.

En septembre 1835, l’aviso Le Castor mouille l’ancre en rade de Toulon, chargé de dessins et de sculptures de la Renaissance à destination de Lille, légués à la Société des Sciences de cette ville par J.-B. Wicar, élève de David (1762-1834). Découverte dans ce trésor, une tête de femme en cire, réputée « du temps de Raphaël », devient, à partir de 1865, l’œuvre majeure du musée de Lille. Au creux d’une niche dorée, elle enthousiasme, séduit et intrigue. Est-elle le moulage d’une morte de l’Antiquité, retrouvée à la Renaissance ? Sa beauté idéale n’en fait-elle pas plutôt la Joconde de Lille, œuvre de Léonard ? Convaincu, Dumas fils en commande une réplique à Henry Cros en 1869. Malgré de moins prestigieuses attributions, sa renommée croît et culmine en 1918 : l’héroïque « Belle Jeune Fille de Lille », soustraite à la convoitise de l’occupant, devient alors un emblème. Mais une gêne s’installe : a-t-on vénéré une œuvre obscure du xviie siècle, ou pire, un faux ?Le présent ouvrage ne se prend pas au jeu du connoisseurship. Il montre plutôt qu’à ériger cette sculpture en chef-d’œuvre, on court le risque de négliger son statut et sa fonction. Essai épistémologique, il analyse l’attitude des historiens de l’art et du public à son l’égard, à travers l’historiographie, les poèmes, les romans, les photographies, les estampes et des fac-similés. Il montre que ce « grand Tout en un petit volume », selon Dumas fils, en cristallisant les attentes en matière de beauté idéale, est devenu le visage même d’un désir, refoulé après 1945. Il analyse un phénomène d’histoire de l’art et de société, une adoration muée en soupçon et en indifférence. L’œuvre en elle-même est pourtant innocente du transfert que nous opérons sur elle.

En el actual escenario político de México, marcado por una probable reforma electoral, Notas para la optimización del sistema electoral mexicano adquiere una pertinencia singular. Este texto invita a reflexionar sobre la arquitectura normativa, institucional y operativa que sostiene la democracia electoral en México, así como las posibles rutas para su actualización. En suma, es un llamado oportuno a no improvisar, a escuchar la experiencia acumulada y a considerar, con detenimiento técnico, las consecuencias de cualquier rediseño institucional. Como ocurre en el diseño arquitectónico más sensible al entorno, optimizar un sistema institucional no implica demoler sus estructuras, sino intervenirlas con plena conciencia de lo ya edificado para potenciar su condición. En esta línea, los arquitectos Anne Lacaton y Jean-Philippe Vassal (Premio Pritzker 2021) han sostenido que “transformar es hacer más y mejor con lo existente”, una premisa que resume su apuesta por la regeneración de espacios sin recurrir a la destrucción. Del mismo modo, una reforma electoral efectiva no debe buscar un punto cero, sino mejorar aquello que ha demostrado solidez. Reformar no es reemplazar, es hacer habitable el sistema democrático para todas las personas, ampliando sus accesos, fortaleciendo sus pilares y manteniendo la cohesión con su entorno constitucional autónomo, plural y originariamente ciudadano. Esta obra compila los aportes de especialistas que, desde una perspectiva comparada, histórica y normativa, exploran los límites y potencialidades del sistema electoral mexicano. Sus autores, Roberto Lara Chagoyán, Douglas William Gelfeld y Arturo Sánchez Gutiérrez, abordan tres dimensiones complementarias: las mejores prácticas internacionales en materia electoral; la distinción entre tener instituciones democráticas y vivir democráticamente; y un conjunto de premisas y propuestas para optimizar el modelo mexicano. El resultado es un texto plural y propositivo que enriquece uno de los debates más relevantes para el futuro político del país. Entre los aspectos centrales que abarca este libro, destacan la defensa de la autonomía del INE, como condición de certeza y credibilidad; la necesidad de asegurar la pluralidad política a través del sistema mixto de representación; la evaluación crítica de la sobrerregulación; la revisión del modelo de fiscalización y prerrogativas; la eficiencia de los órganos jurisdiccionales; y la pertinencia de adoptar nuevas tecnologías para el ejercicio del sufragio. Asimismo, se advierte sobre el riesgo de reformas sin consenso y sin deliberación plural. Por ello, los autores proponen la creación de un equipo técnico independiente, con una participación limitada de los partidos, que se encargaría esencialmente de elaborar el primer borrador de cualquier iniciativa de reforma. En este punto, resulta adecuado referirse a algunas de las líneas que se han esbozado como posibles ejes de la reforma electoral: la elección por voto popular de las consejerías; la eliminación de los Organismos Públicos Locales electorales, así como de los tribunales electorales locales; la disminución de recursos a los partidos políticos; y la transformación estructural del sistema de representación proporcional. Cada una de estas propuestas implica efectos jurídicos, políticos y operativos de gran alcance que deben ser analizados con rigor técnico, evidencia comparada y experiencia institucional. Uno de los aportes más relevantes del texto consiste en enfatizar que una reforma electoral, para ser efectiva, debe diseñarse con visión de largo plazo, madurez institucional y, sobre todo, diálogo amplio. En este sentido, se subraya la importancia de construir espacios de deliberación, en los que participen las fuerzas políticas, la ciudadanía organizada, los órganos constitucionales autónomos y la academia. Ello coincide con las recomendaciones de la literatura especializada, pues las reformas y el diseño de políticas públicas con un enfoque en resultados provienen de procesos deliberativos complejos, técnicamente informados y socialmente incluyentes. Por ello, una reforma que aspire a mejorar nuestro sistema democrático no puede excluir la experiencia del Instituto Nacional Electoral ni debilitar sus condiciones constitucionales. Los autores subrayan que una reforma electoral sólo podrá tener efectos positivos si se sustenta en tres pilares: legitimidad de origen, racionalidad técnica y eficacia operativa, al tiempo que reiteran que la construcción de consensos no es un formalismo, sino una garantía democrática que asegura la estabilidad del sistema y la confianza de los actores. Como Consejero Electoral del Instituto Nacional Electoral, considero imprescindible abrir espacios de reflexión que permitan, desde el conocimiento técnico y la deliberación pública, robustecer nuestro sistema electoral. Esta publicación representa uno de esos espacios, pues contribuye a la comprensión de los desafíos actuales y abre diversas rutas de solución a través de propuestas concretas, viables y articuladas con los principios constitucionales que rigen la función electoral. Es preciso añadir que el fortalecimiento de la democracia no sólo se genera en las reglas, sino en la capacidad efectiva de las instituciones para cumplirlas. En este sentido, garantizar un presupuesto adecuado, racional, pero suficiente para el INE y los demás órganos del sistema electoral, no es un privilegio ni un exceso, sino una condición necesaria para preservar la integridad en los procesos electorales. Por último, publicar esta obra en este momento significa invitar a la ciudadanía a la lectura informada y al debate riguroso. Su contenido ofrece herramientas para pensar con responsabilidad las futuras decisiones institucionales, con la convicción de que sólo un sistema electoral autónomo, confiable y técnicamente sólido puede sostener la democracia que las mexicanas y los mexicanos han construido en las últimas décadas. The ERiK-Methodological Report III is the third in a series of methodological reports related to the "Entwicklung von Rahmenbedingungen in der Kindertagesbetreuung -indikatorengestützte Qualitätsbeobachtung (ERiK)" study. The report focuses on the conception, sample selection, and survey designs of the ERiK-Surveys 2022. Together with the ERiK-Methodological Report I and II, that cover the ERiK Surveys 2020, it provides comprehensive background information on the ERiK-Surveys conducted in 2022 and describes their progression until December 31, 2021. The subsequent steps, such as implementing the ERiK-Surveys 2022, will be described in a later report.

Atomistic simulations, based on ab-initio and semi-empirical approaches, are nowadays widespread in many areas of physics, chemistry and, more recently, biology. Improved algorithms and increased computational power widened the areas of application of these computational methods to extended materials of technological interest, in particular allowing unprecedented access to the first-principles investigation of their electronic, optical, thermodynamical and mechanical properties, even where experiments are not available. However, for a big impact on the society, this rapidly growing field of computational approaches to materials science has to face the unfavourable scaling with the system size, and to beat the time-scale bottleneck. Indeed, many phenomena, such as crystal growth or protein folding for example, occur in a space/time scale which is normally out of reach of present simulations. Multi-scale approaches try to combine different scale algorithms along with matching procedures in order to bridge the gap between first-principles and continuum-level simulations. This Research Topic aims at the description of recent advances and applications in these two emerging fields of ab-inito and multi-scale materials modelling for both ground and excited states. A variety of theoretical and computational techniques are included along with the application of these methods to systems at increasing level of complexity, from nano to micro. Crossing the borders between several computational, theoretical and experimental techniques, this Research Topic aims to be of interest to a broad community, including experimental and theoretical physicists, chemists and engineers interested in materials research in a broad sense.

Clear cell renal cell carcinoma is currently one of the most interesting areas of study in oncology. Despite the advances made in this field, this tumor continues to be a health problem of major concern in Western societies, seriously affecting public health services. Several characteristics of this tumor make it an exciting meeting point for translational collaboration between clinicians and basic researchers. Clear cell renal cell carcinoma is a paradigmatic example of inter- and intra-tumor heterogeneity from morphological, immunohistochemical, and molecular viewpoints. This tumor is also a good example to investigate the complexity of tumor/tumor and tumor/environment relationships from an ecological perspective. A deeper identification of the varied internal tumor self-organization through the specialization of cell clones and subclones as local invaders and metastasizers, on one hand, and the interactions of specific subsets of tumor cells with the local host microenvironment, on the other, will significantly enrich our knowledge of this neoplasm. Clear cell renal cell carcinoma is also a paradigmatic test bench for antiangiogenic and immune checkpoint blockage therapies. The refinement of these therapeutic tools administered alone or in combination is a hot issue in oncology, and several international trials are underway.

Die Digitalisierung des Gesundheitswesens und seiner wichtigsten Subinstitution, dem Krankenhaus, steht im Zentrum fachlicher, politischer und alltagspraktischer Debatten.
