The recent Recommendations of the Ministers of the European Higher Education Area (BFUG, 2020) have highlighted how the qualification processes of university teaching are closely related to didactic approaches student’s-centered. To facilitate change actions, institutions identify mediation figures within the university with the function of managing Faculty Development actions and programs. The chapter outlines the role of the faculty developer and considers him an educational "agent of change". Faculty developers can create a network for the professional and organizational development of a university, favoring the construction of communities of practice and multi-transdisciplinary connections.

About the publication *Key reference work for diplomats and legal experts participating in international legal negotiations and transnational policy debates on governing the African continent. *Highly recommended for developing courses, reading lists and other teaching materials on African International Law and African International Relations. *Instrumental for developing innovative and impact-oriented research and policy strategies on the politics of making and implementing African International Law. What is African about African international law? The main aim of this book is to answer this question by developing a theory to explain how and why international law is Africanized. This includes explaining how Africanization relates both to the extent of continental norm setting by the Organization of African Unity and later the African Union, as the principal agent responsible for ‘African solutions to African problems’, and to the degree to which this African International Organization enforces these norms through varied continental accountability mechanisms. In this specific context, the book considers the different modalities through which the idea of Africa shapes, is shaped by and is embedded in international law making and implementation.

This open access book contains texts by the Nobel laureate Paul J. Crutzen who is best known for his research on ozone depletion. It comprises Crutzen’s autobiography, several pictures documenting important stages of his life, and his most important scientific publications. The Dutch atmospheric chemist is one of the world’s most cited scientists in geosciences. His political engagement makes him a tireless ambassador for environmental issues such as climate change. He popularized the term ‘Anthropocene’ for the current geological era acknowledging the enduring influence of humankind on planet Earth. This concept conceives humans to be a geologic factor, influencing the evolution of our globe and the living beings populating it. The selection of texts is representing Paul Crutzen´s scientific oeuvre as his research interests span from ozone depletion to the climatic impacts of biomass burning, the consequences of a worldwide atomic war – the Nuclear Winter - to geoengineering and the Anthropocene. This book is available open access under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License via link.springer.com.

Regulation aims to enhance the safety and quality of voluntary assisted dying (VAD) and promote compliance with legal and system requirements. This chapter proposes that VAD regulation is more likely to be effective when it is designed in a holistic way. Research and evaluations of VAD regulation should also adopt holistic approaches. Holistic approaches are those which consider how all regulatory instruments and actors may guide the behaviour of individuals and institutions in the context of VAD. This includes both looking beyond the role of law and seeing the influence of non-State actors. The chapter begins by defining ‘regulation’ and why it is important for VAD. It then outlines how taking a holistic approach will lead to better understanding of how these regulatory systems work and can be improved. It also explores a case study research project implementing a holistic approach, drawing on regulatory space theory.
