Das vorliegende Open-Access-Buch befasst sich mit den Fragen, welche Rollen Klassenmitglieder bei Bullying einnehmen und durch welche sozial-kognitiven und affektiven Reaktionen sie sich auszeichnen. Bei Bullying handelt es sich um aggressives Verhalten, das sich über einen längeren Zeitraum hinweg systematisch gegen schwächere Mitglieder einer Gruppe richtet. Bullying ist dementsprechend als Gruppenphänomen zu verstehen, das unter anderem häufig in Schulklassen auftritt. Die vorliegende empirische Arbeit berücksichtigt sowohl Bullying im schulischen Kontext als auch Bullying mittels digitaler Medien – also Cyberbullying. Grundannahme ist, dass sich Bullying im Klassenverband heutzutage auch in den Cyberspace erstreckt. Neben Täter- und Opfer-Rolle wird zwischen drei Bystander-Rollen differenziert: Verstärker, Verteidiger und Außenstehende. Der Vergleich zwischen diesen Rollen zeigt, dass sich unter Kontrolle von Geschlecht und Klassenstufe insbesondere Verteidiger- und Täter-Rolle in Hinblick auf Empathie, Moral Disengagement, Verantwortungsgefühl und Selbstwirksamkeitserwartungen unterscheiden, es jedoch wider Erwarten keine Unterschiede zwischen den Bystander-Rollen bezüglich Befürchtungen gibt.

Si les alchimistes se désignaient eux-mêmes sous le nom de « philosophes », cette qualité leur fut déniée dès le Moyen-Âge par bien des représentants plus officiels de la « philosophie ». Aujourd’hui, l’importance des doctrines alchimiques dans l’histoire des idées n’est plus guère contestée. Pourtant, les rapports entre la « philosophie hermétique » ou « chymique » et la philosophie au sens habituel restent mal étudiés. C’est afin d’apporter des éléments de réponse à cette question que s’est tenu le colloque dont ce volume constitue les Actes. L’originalité des contributions est de présenter l’alchimie de la Renaissance (xve-xviie siècles) non comme un tout cohérent, donné une fois pour toutes dans la dimension anhistorique d’une « secrète science », mais comme un corpus théorique traversé par une multiplicité de tendances. Cette multiplicité est ici illustrée par l’analyse d’œuvres ou de courants particuliers ayant contribué au développement des doctrines alchimiques, comme la Summa perfectionis de Geber, les traités attribués à Arnaud de Villeneuve, les œuvres de Guillaume Sedacer, Paracelse, Gérard Dorn, Evangelista Quattrami, Jacques Gohory, Michel Maier, Pierre-Jean Fabre, etc. Elle l’est aussi à travers l’étude de la représentation de l’alchimie et de son influence chez des philosophes ou savants eux-mêmes non alchimistes, tels Michel Savonarole, Marsile Ficin, André Thevet, Tycho Brahé, Giordano Bruno, Campanella, Naudé, ou Mersenne.

The Mu Tianzi Zhuan, which translates as the "Chronicle of [King] Mu, Son-of Heaven," is considered the oldest surviving account of travel in Chinese literary history. It describes the travels undertaken by King Mu in the tenth century BC. This German translation is the first translation into a Western language in over forty years and is accompanied by a comprehensive critical apparatus.

Schulgeschichtsbücher spiegeln das historische Verständnis einer Gesellschaft zur jeweiligen Zeit wider. Als Konglomerat dessen, was an nachfolgende Generationen weitergegeben werden soll, stellen sie damit einen zentralen und ergiebigen Forschungsgegenstand dar. Anhand der Darstellung des Versailler Vertrags in Schulbüchern aus Deutschland, Frankreich, Großbritannien und den USA vergleicht Lena Mörike die Entwicklung nationaler Erinnerungskulturen zwischen 1919 und 2019. Dabei zeigt sie Wechselwirkungen zwischen Geschichtsbildern und politischen Einflüssen auf, legt persistierende Narrative frei und untersucht bewusste und unbewusste Mechanismen der kollektiven Erinnerungsbildung.

Knapp die erste Hälfte seines Lebens, gut 25 prägende Jahre, verbrachte der weltweit gelesene Nationalökonom, Soziologe und Historiker Max Weber (1864–1920) in Berlin. Als Weber von sich selbst bekannte, er sei erzogen in den Anschauungen und Idealen der bürgerlichen Klassen, hatte er Berlin im Blick. Dieses Buch macht erstmals den für Webers Lebensweg weichenstellenden Erfahrungsraum Berlin zu einem eigenen Thema. In 20 Kapiteln wird die Berliner Erfahrungswelt des jungen Max Weber erschlossen: großbürgerliches Familienleben und politische Geselligkeit, Ansprüche des preußischen Gymnasiums, Jurastudium und Referendariat, Heirat, erste Professur und wissenschaftliches Frühwerk. Weber nahm aktiv teil an den großen Wandlungsschüben des jungen Kaiserreiches. Dazu zählt die Spaltung des Liberalismus ebenso wie die Verwissenschaftlichung der Sozialen Frage. Die ›Berliner Moderne‹ in Malerei, Literatur und Musik verfolgte er aufmerksam. Den ›Berliner Antisemitismus‹ erlebte er hautnah. Berlin legte als dynamische Industriemetropole und politisch-kulturell pulsierende Reichshauptstadt mit einer Universität von Weltruf das Fundament für Webers internationale Geltung als Klassiker unserer modernen Zeit

Advances in Fatigue and Fracture Testing and Modelling explores various aspects related to fatigue and fracture in metallic and non-metallic materials in terms of mechanical testing and numerical modelling. The book provides results of research work conducted by experts worldwide. It discusses fatigue failure of materials and presents possible numerical solutions. It also presents predictive models and finite element (FE) activities to illustrate the behaviour of materials in real-life conditions.

Some of the problems characterized by contemporary academic communication are widely believed to be rooted in recent times. Issues such as predatory publishing and violations of research ethics and integrity are often considered to be the result of the expansion of digital publishing, especially open access. Although open access increases the risk of illegal or ethically wrong behaviour under certain conditions, access to research results increases the visibility and dissemination of publications. Not only is this a means of detecting bias cases that are otherwise more difficult to detect. A number of other critical issues related to the ethics and integrity of scientific research are rising, but also become apparent thanks to the potential of technology, such as predator magazines and conferences, paper factories that make scientific papers, zombies that emerge from bad management. The book describes harmful practices in scientific communication, destroying its credibility today, and draws backwards, showing the line of continuity with the past centuries. The integration of media history, the emphasis on book piracy, and the debate on intellectual freedom, which led to the establishment of the first copyright law and ignited Enlightenment, were crucial in modern times and were considered a possible transition to a new paradigm.

Dieses Open-Access-Buch geht theoretisch und empirisch der Frage nach, wie Studien(fach)wahlen im Kontext von sozialem Milieu und sozialem Geschlecht entstehen und nutzt dazu das Habituskonzept nach Pierre Bourdieu und die daran anschließende Methode der Habitushermeneutik. Der Weg an eine Hochschule und in ein spezifisches Studienfach wird nach wie vor grundlegend durch die soziale Herkunft wie auch das soziale Geschlecht beeinflusst. Allerdings wird das Zusammenspiel dieser beiden Dimensionen in Studien der Bildungs- und Geschlechterforschung häufig nur ungenügend berücksichtigt. Es wird gezeigt, dass die Entscheidung, ob und warum überhaupt ein Studium aufgenommen wird, primär durch das soziale Milieu bestimmt ist – ‚Frauen‘ und ‚Männer‘ eines sozialen Milieus verbindet hier mehr als sie trennt. Innerhalb dieses milieuspezifischen Rahmens prägt das soziale Geschlecht den weiteren Möglichkeitsraum der Studienfachwahl.

"Linguistic creativity in marketing" is the seventh book in the cycle devoted to linguistic creativity. The title issue is considered on two levels - theoretical and practical. The volume includes articles on important and current problems of Internet communication, such as: language on social media, copywriting, contemporary language trends in content marketing.
