Despite a structured physical education system and related policies, dance education in Korea largely exists as a course in name only, without achieving its unique goals. It lacks standards within the physical education curriculum, which indicates that dance education is not conducted properly. Thus, the content and level of dance education vary from school to school and depend heavily on each teacher's educational background. This article discusses the history of Korean dance education and how it must change in accordance with the seventh national curriculum, which focuses on creativity education. (Contains 1 table.)

Most religious organizations exert their greatest effort in the religious education of children. This makes sense in terms of handing on the faith to the next generation. Historically, however, religious education of adults is the first endeavor of religious groups. Conducting education of children requires the previous religious education of adults. The main responsibility for the education of children lies in the hands of adults who can do this competently only if they are committed to and well versed in their religious faith. This chapter provides a historical overview of religion and religious education. In addition, it discusses how adult religious education is conducted.

Despite major differences in course delivery, the critical components of effective online mathematics teacher education may not be different from the critical components of effective face-to-face mathematics teacher education. This paper describes the case of an online mathematics education course for in-service elementary teachers, and discusses issues of design and effect of online experiences. The hypothesis presented in this paper is that there is a clear and powerful trend in U.S. higher education in the direction of people for education rather than education for people; that this trend has reached the point of actually redefining the operational notion of education and people; that it applies to both students and faculty; and that it is currently the dominant trend in U.S. higher education. Further, the hypothesis of bureaucratization of higher education is explained in detail, with emphasis on its structural origins and its implications for the future of higher education. (Author/HS)
