Les médias sociaux exercent une influence croissante sur la communication des organisations, qu’elles soient privées ou publiques, ainsi que sur les échanges entre celles-ci et les individus dans l’environnement numérique. Dans ce contexte, il devient indispensable de mieux connaître ces outils, souvent devenus nécessaires dans la communication de ces organisations. Cet état de fait est particulièrement saillant pour les organisations publiques dont les impératifs d’objectivité et de transparence sont importants. Le recours aux médias sociaux soulève donc de nombreuses questions relatives aux contenus publiés, à la modération de ceux-ci, ou encore aux interactions avec les citoyens. Cet ouvrage présente les enjeux relatifs à leur adoption et à leur utilisation au sein des administrations publiques, en mettant en évidence les avantages, les risques et les enjeux propres aux principales plateformes mobilisées. Il décrit également les défis contemporains et les évolutions futures relatives à ces médias. Les différentes sections sont également illustrées par des échanges avec des responsables et des experts de la communication numérique dans plusieurs pays francophones. Décrivant de manière détaillée les cas canadiens et québécois, il contribue de manière originale aux écrits sur le sujet, en liant les développements théoriques récents et les pratiques observées. La communication publique sur les médias sociaux s’adresse tant aux étudiants qu’aux professionnels de la communication dans le secteur public (par exemple les gestionnaires de communauté sur les médias sociaux).

There is as yet no comprehensive, learner-centred book that fosters African indigenous knowledge perspectives and rationalisation about the musical arts. The concern over the years has been for the production of research-informed books for modern, systematic education in African musical arts that derive in essence from the original African intellectual perspectives about the sense and meaning of music – indigenous to contemporary. The five volumes of the musical arts study series derive from 36 years of research and analytical studies in African musical arts. The volumes address the pressing need for learning texts informed by the indigenous African musical arts systems that target tertiary education. The texts incorporate knowledge of conventional European classical music as they relate to the unique features of African musical arts thinking and theoretical content. The contemporary African musical arts specialist needs secure grounding in his/her own human-cultural knowledge authority in order to contribute with original intellectual integrity to African as well as global scholarship discourse and knowledge creation.

As an interdisciplinary field of study, higher education research is still underdeveloped in terms of theoretical matureness and rigour. This book offers perspectives on how a range of methodological choices, theoretical approaches and conceptualisations from other disciplines can be successfully applied and utilised in the context of higher education. As a reader compiled of independent chapters, the book is particularly aimed at PhD students in the field of higher education administration. The book consists of three parts: I Methodological Approaches – examples for early career researchers; II Conceptual Approaches Utilised to Understanding University Transformation; and, III Scholarly Traditions Applied to Understand Universities and Academic Work. The first part highlights the importance of methods in research, and provides examples of academic dissertations with strong methodological groundings. In the second part, the authors provide theoretical and conceptual aids to analyse the transformation of higher education. The third part focuses on how traditional and well-established theoretical approaches can be applied to higher education settings in terms of, for example, research questions.

Under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Khaled Mahdi, Secretary General of the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development, Australian University (College of Business), organized jointly with CQ University, Australia, and the Institute of Economic Sciences, Serbia, and under the sponsorship of the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, the International Scientific Conference aimed to bring together researchers, scholars and policymakers to present and discuss their research on the frontiers of knowledge of selected topics in the field of digital transformation in business. The conference gathered 30 presenters from Asia, Europe, and Australia, who presented the results of their research to peers from the participating countries and academic institutions. The mode of the conference was hybrid.

Between 1770 and 1800, transformations in the relationship between metropolitan British society and its colonial holdings, and in the concept of the nation itself, left Britons with a new sense of themselves. Over the same period, the consolidation of the middle classes was accompanied by growing social constraints on sexuality and family life. Staging Governance locates the intersection of these two trends in the representation of British India on the London stage. Theatrical productions, especially those representing colonial life, pushed the limits of public discourse on sexuality and colonialism even as the government made efforts to shape and narrow them. At the same time, official discourse on colonial practices, such as the public trials of Clive and Hastings, became theatrical events themselves. Exploring this rapidly shifting world through a series of original readings of dramatic texts and important moments of oratory, Staging Governance demonstrates how the perceived crises of imperial and domestic Britain joined these spheres in the popular imagination. The economics of political and sexual exchange not only became entwined but functioned as mutual supports during a period of social, cultural, and political readjustment.

This book aims at providing an up-to-date report to cover key aspects of existing problems in the emerging field of targets in gene therapy. With the contributions in various disciplines of gene therapy, the book brings together major approaches: Target Strategy in Gene Therapy, Gene Therapy of Cancer and Gene Therapy of Other Diseases. INSIDE OUT is a design build experiment that merges curatorial practice in an interactive installation as part of the IFA annual exhibition 2021 at the Institute for Architecture in the Hermkes Building on Ernst Reuter Platz in Berlin. Shaped by the events of the Covi-19 pandemic, the question of the exhibition concept at a distance plays the central role that decides on production, design and implementation.

The here collected contributions relating to the 46th International Conference of the Representation Disciplines Teachers, organized jointly by Sapienza University of Rome, Roma Tre University, and San Raffaele Roma University, aim to offer the scientific community a reflection on the theoretical and methodological aspects related to the concept of èkphrasis, a term that, in the field of representation, concerns descriptive, analogical, and digital activities that generate new knowledge in several areas of application. The Conference aims to place at the center of the discussion an interpretation of the concept of research that, without neglecting an idea of study, protection, and enhancement of environmental and cultural heritage, focuses on the needs of contemporary society and its possible developments, making use of innovative theoretical, methodological, and operational activities, including those characterized by an interdisciplinary approach. According to this interpretation, research can also be seen as a foreshadowing of the definition and testing of experimental proposals aimed at exploring new areas of investigation: this opens up imaginative and utopian perspectives in the relationship between the sciences, the arts, and the disciplines that contribute to common goals, through the experimentation of methods, techniques, and languages for conceiving, prefiguring, designing, and representing.

The so-called Byzantine “Palaea Historica” is a text that functioned in the literature and culture of the Byzantine-Slavic commonwealth. As a collection of stories on “Old Testament” themes, which are basically of biblical origin, it preserves some pre-Christian narrations coming from the Hebrew tradition, as well as some Early Christian apocrypha. Moreover, it represents different interpretations of the Bible. An important component of the “Palaea Historica” are the poetic fragments – excerpts from the “Book of Psalms” and from some liturgical poetry by St. John of Damascus, St. Cosmas of Maiuma, and St. Andrew of Crete. Although firstly thought to be a part of a bigger whole, the edition of the source text accepted the form of an independent title. In this volume, the presented critical edition of the second Slavonic translation of the “Palaea Historica” is preceded by an introduction, which discusses the origins and characteristics of the literary relic as well as the history of its reception amongst the Slavs.

Fuzzy Logic is becoming an essential method of solving problems in all domains. It gives tremendous impact on the design of autonomous intelligent systems. The purpose of this book is to introduce Hybrid Algorithms, Techniques, and Implementations of Fuzzy Logic. The book consists of thirteen chapters highlighting models and principles of fuzzy logic and issues on its techniques and implementations. The intended readers of this book are engineers, researchers, and graduate students interested in fuzzy logic systems.

Polyphenols are a heterogeneous group of bioactive compounds mainly found in plant-based foods. Numerous clinical and epidemiological studies have led to the result that polyphenol intake may protect against chronic diseases such as cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases, cancer, or type 2 diabetes, to name some. Polyphenol intake estimation can be obtained through food frequency questionnaires and nutritional biomarkers, both having their own advantages and disadvantages. Although the association between these bioactive compounds and health seems irrefutable, many questions remain still unanswered. For instance, more studies are needed to identify possible interactions and effect-modulating variables, such as smoking habit, body mass index, sex, alcohol, hormones, other foods, etc. Moreover, intestinal microbiota seems to play an important role in the metabolism of polyphenols, but it is still unclear how.
