The Framework Plan for Kindergartens shapes the everyday lives of children and staff and expresses society’s prevailing view of children and childhood. This anthology examines how the current framework plan from 2017 works in kindergartens and the kindergarten sector—through different perspectives, methods, and types of sources. The anthology addresses two overarching themes: First, how kindergarten authorities, owners, staff, and other actors understand the goals and intentions of the framework plan and how they experience implementing it. Second, it investigates how the same actors use the framework plan through deep dives into selected areas: the subject areas in kindergarten, progression as a way of working, Sami perspectives, and work on children’s transitions—from home to kindergarten, within kindergarten, and from kindergarten to school. In addition, it examines the significance of a strengthened owner role and the municipalities’ role as supervisory authorities. The anthology is suitable for bachelor’s and master’s students and researchers in kindergarten teacher education programs, principal/leadership programs, as well as kindergarten staff and others in the kindergarten field.

Food allergy, a specific immune response that occurs reproducibly upon exposure to a food allergen, is an increasing public health problem, causing a significant burden for affected patients, resulting in dietary restrictions, fear of accidental ingestions and related risk of severe reactions, and reduced quality of life. Clinical presentation ranges from mild to life-threatening symptoms. Component-resolved diagnosis with recombinant allergens has improved the diagnosis and, consequently, clinical management. Currently, there is no specific treatment for food allergy, so the only available management is limited to strict dietary avoidance, education on prompt recognition of symptoms, and emergency treatment of adverse reaction. In parallel, novel knowledge on the pathogenesis of food allergy is opening the way to new trials investigating several allergen-specific and allergen non-specific therapies, aiming to prevent the development of food allergy and acquire a persistent food tolerance.

The geographic diversity of many military enterprises, their partners, and their customers has made virtual collaboration vital to their daily operations. However, virtual collaboration can pose challenges to effective team communication, as well as building cohesiveness and trust among team members. This report addresses these challenges through an assessment of three modes of virtual collaboration: computer-mediated communication, audioconferencing, and videoconferencing.

"Northeast India is a multifaceted and dynamic region that is constantly in focus because of its fragile political landscape characterized by endemic violence and conflicts. One of the first of its kind, this reader on Northeast India examines myriad aspects of the region – its people and its linguistic and cultural diversity. •The chapters here highlight the key issues confronted by the Northeast in recent times: its history, politics, economy, gender equations, migration, ethnicity, literature and traditional performative practices. •The book presents interlinkages between a range of socio-cultural issues and armed political violence while covering topics such as federalism, nationality, population, migration and social change. •It discusses debates on development with a view to comprehensive policies and state intervention. With its a nuanced and wide-ranging overview, this volume makes new contributions to understanding a region that is critical to the future of South Asian geopolitics. The book will be of great interest to scholars and researchers of contemporary Northeast India as well as history, political science, area studies, international relations, sociology and social anthropology. It will also appeal to those interested in public administration, regional literature, cultural studies, population studies, development studies and economics."

Two-phase gas–liquid flows are frequently encountered in the energy, nuclear, chemical, geothermal, oil and gas and refrigeration industries. Two-phase gas–liquid flows can occur in various forms, such as flows transitioning from pure liquid to vapor as a result of external heating, separated flows behind a flow's sudden expansion or constriction, dispersed two-phase flows where the dispersed phase is present in the form of liquid droplets, or gas bubbles in a continuous carrier fluid phase (i.e. gas or liquid). Typically, such flows are turbulent with a considerable interfacial interaction between the carrier fluid and the dispersed phases. The interfacial heat and mass transfer is very important in the modeling of such flows. The variety of flow regimes significantly complicates the theoretical prediction of hydrodynamics of the two-phase flow. It requires the application of numerous hypotheses, assumptions, and approximations. Often, the complexity of flow structures makes it impossible to theoretically describe its behavior, and so empirical data are applied instead. The correct simulation of two-phase gas–liquid flows is of great importance for safety's sake and the prediction of energy equipment elements.
