Application of reduced integration in linear shell problems
Overview & Synopsis
The aim of this paper is to give a practical determination of the minimal order of numerical integration necessary for the solution of linear shell problems. We shall use the model of KOITER, but in fact our methodology can be applied to most shell models. To approximate the solution we have used two finite elements : the $P_5$ ARGYRIS element and the complete $P_3$ HSIEH CLOUGH and TOCHER element.
