BoostCrop: from biomass to molecular heaters for plant protection via green chemistry
Overview & Synopsis
The ambitious BoostCrop project aims to reduce yield losses due to cold stress, extend growth seasons and the geographical locations suitable for agriculture, increase crop yield at high crop density and, concomitantly, reduce greenhouse energy costs, adressing two major challenges (1) food safety and (2) biomass availlability to bioeconomy. Herein, synthesis and characterization of molecular heaters, molecules with the ability to convert light to heat, were presented.
