Evaluation of digital curricular resources: An issue for research and teacher education
Overview & Synopsis
Recent research on the use of digital resources in mathematics education highlights that understanding their affordances and limitations is essential for making informed choices when designing and enacting digitally enhanced teaching. Consequently, the ability to critically evaluate such resources has emerged as a central dimension of mathematics teachers' digital competence. In this talk, related to Conference Theme 3 -Theoretical and/or methodological issues in evaluation of curriculum resources -we explore diverse approaches to the evaluation of digital resources and shed light on the complexity of defining robust evaluation frameworks. We conclude by discussing implications for mathematics teacher education, with a particular focus on how future teachers can be supported in developing their evaluative judgment.
