Overview & Synopsis
The project Municipal promotions in Africa Proconsularis and Numidia between Caesar and Gallienus: institutions, society, economy aims to update the picture of municipal promotions between 46 BC and 268 AD in the area originally divided into Africa Vetus and Africa Nova, which later became Africa Proconsularis under Lepidus or Octavian, was subsequently expanded between the principalates of Vespasian and Septimius Severus, and was finally divided by Severus himself or his rival Gallienus into Africa Proconsularis and Numidia.
