On Real Vanishing Cycles
Overview & Synopsis
If $f : \mathbb{R}^{n}\to\mathbb{R}$ is an isolated singularity we give a formula for the homology groups of the positive and negative Milnor fibres in terms of generalised ramification of the gradient of $f$ restricted to the locus where $f$ is positive respectively negative.
