A Working Note on Generating Uniform Random Rational Numbers
Overview & Synopsis
For generating random sequences of rational numbers uniformly distributed between zero and one,an intuitive method consists, for some number m, of randomly choosing numbers among the first m nonnegative integers {0,1,...,m-1} and to divide them by m. In this note we argue that m must be chosen to possess a very high abundancy index.
