Le Paris des Aventures extraordinaires d'Adèle Blanc-Sec de Jacques Tardi : une ville " noire " ?
Overview & Synopsis
Piece of art, space and society are here approached in a relational perspective which focuses on the links they entertain. More precisely, the question of the city representation in the comic-book concerns geography insomuch as this artistic genre corresponds to a popular art, a mass media which entertains strong relations with the public's imagination of the urban space and contributes to influencing it in return. In this perspective, the issue is to appreciate in what way the serial Les Aventures extraordinaires d'Adèle Blanc-Sec1 of Jacques Tardi proposes an original and complex representation of the city as compared to the setting convention of the space in "detective stories", which it recaptures and embezzles.
