Experimental and numerical modeling of the impregnation of fibrous media by suspensions in LCM processes
Overview & Synopsis
This work examines the influence of the addition of particles on process-elaborated composites (LCM). The chapters presented aim to contribute to the understanding of the physics of adding particles to composites and of filtration through fiber preforms. The study highlights the key parameters that govern the addition of particles to composites, in particular those involved in controlling the distribution of particles within the fibrous medium at different scales. The thesis presented aims to address the experimental and numerical modeling of the flow of the suspension through fibrous media and the influence of certain variables on the impregnation process and the distribution of particles within the finished part.
