Étude exploratoire du rôle de la dépression et de l’apathie dans la compréhension des comportements intensifs de visionnage et de jeux vidéo
Overview & Synopsis
Despite their frequency, the behavior of viewing video media has been little studied from a psychological perspective whereas they reproduce some characteristics observed in addictive behaviors. Our exploratory study of 100 young adults aims to investigate the respective links between the viewing behavior and practice of video games and two distinct emotional dimensions, depression and apathy. Statistical analyzes showed different significant effects emphasizing the association between emotional dimensions and both behaviors investigated. This chapter aims to raise some reflection based on behavior which may have damaging consequences, especially among young people least equipped to regulate their conduct.
