Menopause is a natural state of development in women, but it is also a period of vulnerability to the development of several disorders, such as vasomotor symptoms, hot flashes, vaginal dryness, osteoporosis, cognitive deterioration, depression, and anxiety. Factors as diverse as culture, diet, exercise, maternity, age, and genetics can influence the severity of symptoms that are experienced during menopause and can modify the response to diverse therapies. Studying menopause from a multidisciplinary perspective will help elucidate the different factors that affect health during this specific stage of a woman's life. This book presents several aspects of menopause, including its evolutionary origins, novel nonhormonal therapies, and the neurobiology of related disorders.

Peut-on évaluer le risque d’avoir une maladie en lien avec nos gènes, nos comportements ou notre environnement ? L’épidémiologie, qui étudie la répartition et les déterminants des maladies dans la population, permet de répondre à ces questions. Quand Marcel Mauss entrait dans la lumière, son alter ego Henri Hubert (1872-1927) se retirait dans l'ombre. Les deux amis s'étaient pourtant promis de refonder ensemble l'étude des sociétés et des cultures : à Mauss les organisations et les pratiques sociales actuelles, et à Hubert celles du passé, dont témoignent l'histoire et l'archéologie. Ou encore : à Mauss l'espace, et à Hubert le temps. Mort trop jeune, Henri Hubert est l'un des derniers savants à avoir exploré plusieurs disciplines à la fois. Historien des religions, il a été également sociologue, au sein de l'équipe d'Émile Durkheim, mais aussi archéologue et muséographe, auprès de Salomon Reinach au musée des Antiquités nationales de Saint-Germain-en-Laye. Les meilleurs spécialistes des travaux d'Henri Hubert ont été réunis dans cet ouvrage, pour proposer pour la première fois une vision d'ensemble de l'œuvre transdisciplinaire de ce « jumeau de travail » de Mauss. Car, dans les différents champs qu'il a explorés, Hubert a développé une approche profondément nouvelle du temps social et culturel : un temps « qualitatif » qui est celui de la mémoire.

The 43rd UID conference, held in Genova, takes up the theme of ‘Dialogues’ as practice and debate on many fundamental topics in our social life, especially in these complex and not yet resolved times. The city of Genova offers the opportunity to ponder on the value of comparison and on the possibilities for the community, naturally focused on the aspects that concern us, as professors, researchers, disseminators of knowledge, or on all the possibile meanings of the discipline of representation and its dialogue with ‘others’, which we have broadly catalogued in three macro areas: History, Semiotics, Science / Technology. Therefore, “dialogue” as a profitable exchange based on a common language, without which it is impossible to comprehend and understand one another; and the graphic sign that connotes the conference is the precise transcription of this concept: the title ‘translated’ into signs, derived from the visual alphabet designed for the visual identity of the UID since 2017. There are many topics which refer to three macro sessions: - Witnessing (signs and history) - Communicating (signs and semiotics) - Experimenting (signs and sciences) Thanks to the different points of view, an exceptional resource of our disciplinary area, we want to try to outline the prevailing theoretical-operational synergies, the collaborative lines of an instrumental nature, the recent updates of the repertoires of images that attest and nourish the relations among representation, history, semiotics, sciences.

In organizations, economic-financial control systems are necessary for decision-making purposes, whether these are determined from the traditional perspective or by adopting various innovative tools, which are incorporated into financial management for greater assertiveness and direction of decisions. In this sense, economic and financial indicators conceived from traditional perspectives are calculated and analyzed, also projecting the analysis from the consideration and implementation of tools proper to diffuse logic. The ultimate goal is to support decision-making, projecting valid visions and perspectives in current scenarios, where the traditional concept of management restricts the deployment of cutting-edge tools to enhance economic-financial systems, requiring new analytical techniques in these financial processes. From the methodological level, the research is based on the quantitative field, is non-experimental and has a projective analytical level, this by establishing proposals that allowed us to project the value of management and decision-making based on cutting-edge tools. The information presented was derived, on the one hand, from the tracking of financial reports of existing companies in Ecuador. This information was classified, organized, analyzed, processed and projected, serving as a basis for the calculation of economic and financial indicators from the perspectives indicated above: traditional and diffuse logic.

Este libro busca presentar a la comunidad académica nacional e internacional uno de los productos del trabajo de investigación del Observatorio de Redes y Acción Colectiva (ORAC), línea de Acción colectiva indígena, donde se plantean diversas tesis y preguntas sobre la (re)definición de identidades políticas y culturales de las organizaciones indígenas, respecto a temáticas puntuales como la reconstrucción de la memoria histórica, la instrumentalización del derecho, la participación política y su relación con contextos de violencia, conflicto y marginalización. De igual forma, el texto articula de una manera novedosa las trayectorias de vida de líderes y lideresas del Pueblo Arhuaco, contrastándolas con discusiones de alto nivel desarrolladas por los autores del libro en torno a la memoria, los derechos humanos y la participación, siendo éste uno de los aportes más importante del libro, al visibilizar las dinámicas que en muchos casos desdibujan supuestos teóricos y analíticos de las organizaciones sociales indígenas. Cada capítulo presenta enfoques, metodologías y construcciones contextuales diferentes, sin embargo, existe un diálogo y unas equivalencias partiendo de categorías conceptuales, marcos jurídicos y la transversalidad de la defensa de los derechos de los Pueblos Indígenas. Temas como la educación intercultural, la diplomacia indígena, la defensa de los derechos humanos, la participación política, y la memoria, entre otros, dan cuenta de la complejidad de la (re)significación identitaria y las diversas herramientas emancipatorias (discursos, movilización de recursos, repertorios, alianzas, campañas, etc.) instrumentalizadas por las comunidades, las organizaciones y sus líderes.

Czy sztuczna inteligencja pozbawia nas pracy? Algorytmy przejmują władzę nad światem? Czy big data sprawia, że jesteśmy bezustannie inwigilowani? Czy ogromna ilość danych zastępuje ekspertów i naukowców? Cokolwiek sądzimy na te tematy, jedno jest pewne – istnieje heterogeniczne środowisko ludzi, zajmujących się tzw. „sztuczną inteligencją” czy tzw. „big data” od strony technicznej i metodologicznej. Pole ich działania nazywane jest data science, a oni data scientists. Ta książka poświęcona jest właśnie im, polskiemu środowisku data science. Jest to pierwsza monografia socjologiczna dotycząca data science i pierwsza praca w naukach społecznych, w której data science zostało zbadane jako społeczny świat w rozumieniu Adele E. Clarke. To podejście pozwala spojrzeć na data science, nazwane dekadę wstecz w Harvard Business Review „najseksowniejszym zawodem XXI w.”, zarówno z perspektywy jego uczestników jak i z lotu ptaka, w relacji do akademii, biznesu, prawa, mediów czy polityki.

Como indicó Azcárate, se trataba de un tema central de la ciencia jurídica del cambio de siglo que se debatía entre la crítica a la codificación y la búsqueda de una redefinición de las fuentes del derecho. Las numerosas reediciones que ha tenido corroboran su importancia.
