Education, Earning, and Inequality in Brazil, 1982-1998: Implications for Education Policy.
Overview & Synopsis
Examined the statistical relationship between education and earnings in Brazil and the benefits of staying one extra year in school. Overall, the economic reward for staying in school for one more year fundamentally changed from 1982-98, and this development fundamentally altered the way education was remunerated in the labor market. Four appendixes contain summary statistics, the regression model, regression results, and strategies and recommendations for Brazilian higher education. (SM)
