Exposure and Vulnerability to Climate-related Shocks in Tanzania
Overview & Synopsis
This study adopts the hazard, exposure, and vulnerability framework often employed to assess disaster risk and the potential impacts of climate change (Hill et al., 2024). Welfare impacts result from dynamic interactions between hazards with the exposure and vulnerability of households (Figure 1). Hazards, exposure and vulnerability may each be subject to uncertainty in terms of magnitude and likelihood of occurrence, and each may change over time and space due to socio-economic changes, policies and human decision-making.
