Overview & Synopsis
This report presents a regional framework for strengthening health security, food systems resilience, environmental sustainability, and socioeconomic development across Southern Africa through a coordinated One Health approach. The roadmap promotes regional governance, transboundary disease prevention and control, food safety, antimicrobial resistance management, biodiversity protection, and economic opportunities by enhancing collaboration across human, animal, plant, and environmental health sectors. It emphasizes integrated surveillance, early warning systems, capacity building, knowledge sharing, and sustainable financing mechanisms, while leveraging partnerships with regional institutions, the Quadripartite Alliance, and development partners, including the World Bank, to support implementation and strengthen regional preparedness and resilience.
