Africa Skills for Jobs Policy Academy : Practitioner Program
Overview & Synopsis
Modern economies rely on job creation to drive income, opportunity, and long-term growth, making jobs central to the World Bank Group’s agenda. However, significant challenges persist, particularly in Africa, where rapid labor force growth far outpaces formal job creation. Weak education and training systems, outdated curricula, and limited private sector engagement hinder skills development. At the same time, technological change brings both opportunities and risks. Addressing these challenges requires demand-driven, inclusive, and adaptive skills systems aligned with market needs. The Africa Skills for Jobs Policy Academy supports policymakers by fostering collaboration, sharing evidence, and promoting scalable solutions to strengthen skills development and create sustainable employment opportunities.
