Knowledge Pack : Beyond Traditional Classrooms - Harnessing Smart and Virtual Labs for Basic Education
Overview & Synopsis
Knowledge Packages (KPs) are short, pragmatic guides on individual topics within EdTech, meant to provide sufficient knowledge and understanding so that non-technical stakeholders can make key planning, design, and procurement decisions for education. They can be used as a starting point for the planning of technology deployment to improve education, especially with education ministries. This KP informs and guides the design of technology-enhanced laboratory spaces, also known as smart labs, makerspaces, digital education laboratories, smart classrooms, future classrooms, etc. These labs have the potential to provide an enriched learning experience for students by leveraging technology. However, the crucial role of teachers, supported by comprehensive training and ample guidance remains indispensable for optimal utilization. The KP describes various lab types, their key features, and emphasizes the need for additional evidence to bolster existing research.
