Bridging the Gap: Primary Education in the Philippines
Overview & Synopsis
While secondary and tertiary education in the Philippines have received increased attention and resources in recent years, primary education -- the cornerstone of lifelong learning -- remains underfunded. From 2013 to 2023, government spending per student for primary education lagged significantly behind secondary and tertiary education. While progress has been made across all levels, the disparity has widened. If the true aim is to reform education delivery and ensure every Filipino child has the tools to succeed, it's time to reevaluate priorities.
