Options for Financing Graduate Medical Education
Overview & Synopsis
Three options are discussed: (1) recognize graduate medical education as an extension of undergraduate medical education and finance it as an education expense; (2) develop a mechanism for equitable distribution such as New York's 10/90 percent scheme; and (3) recognize GME as part of the health care delivery system financed as such.
