The youth-terminal educational system in America ignores the increasing adult needs for further education and systematic lifelong learning opportunities. Continuing education for adults has become a necessary role for institutionalized higher education. To fulfill this role, departures from tradition-oriented higher educational opportunities will have to be provided. (EM)
