Global Partnership for Social Accountability : Forward Look - Part 1
Overview & Synopsis
In 2021 the decision was made to conduct a Strategic Program Review (SPR) of the Global Partnership for Social Accountability (GPSA), akin to the World Bank’s Performance Review and Learning. The SPR will draw out insights and lessons from the GPSA’s practice and shifting context to inform decisions on its direction and approaches for the next phase of the Program (GPSA 2.0). The SPR was not considered to be a learning review of the efficacy and success of GPSA individual projects, and its main intended end-users were the GPSA and World Bank. Subsequently, there was a preference for a more forward-looking approach, through what was designated a Forward Look. It will be less evaluative, led internally by the GPSA team, and more on lessons learned and repositioning of the GPSA strategically for the future, taking into account changes, since its creation in 2012, in both its internal and external environment. The goal will be to increase the Program’s relevance and effectiveness and ensure its viability, drawing on insights and data from the program’s history and feedback from key stakeholders.
