Republic of Congo - Lifting of Suspension of Disbursements

Author / Organization:
Economics & Development Published 2026 Verification Pending

Overview & Synopsis

This notice reports that following a suspension of withdrawals communicated by the International Development Association (IDA) to the Republic of Congo on June 26, 2026, the World Bank has since received all overdue payments identified in that notice as well as all payments that fell due after the suspension date, rendering the member current on all obligations under the suspended loans. The conclusion is that the conditions prompting the suspension have been resolved and the suspension of withdrawals under the suspended loans has been lifted effective July 9, 2026. The policy change is the restoration of normal disbursement rights under the affected loans, signaling a resumption of standard operations and access to financing. The information has been circulated to Executive Directors and Alternates, the President's Executive Committee, and Senior Management of the World Bank, International Finance Corporation, and Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency.
