Sudan - Sudan Preparedness Plan for Food and Nutrition Security Crises Project
Overview & Synopsis
The Sudan Preparedness Plan for Food and Nutrition Security Crises Project aims to improve Sudan's preparedness and response to acute food and nutrition security crises through strengthened data, coordination, and decision-support systems. Implemented by Catholic Relief Services (CRS), the project supports the development, dissemination, and operationalization of a national Food and Nutrition Security Preparedness Plan through preparedness assessments, stakeholder consultations, technical working groups, and the establishment of crisis monitoring, early warning, and response mechanisms. The project also strengthens operational readiness by supporting the Joint Monitoring Report (JMR) system through partner training, publication of the first JMR, and the establishment of national Risk and Programming Teams. In addition, it finances project management, financial oversight, procurement, monitoring and evaluation, environmental and social risk management, stakeholder engagement, knowledge sharing, and reporting activities to enhance coordination and resilience in addressing food and nutrition security crises.
