Greening Romania's Industry: Policy Recommendations for Decarbonization, Competitiveness and Climate Resilience
Overview & Synopsis
This report is organized around three interconnected pillars—industry decarbonization, green competitiveness, and private sector adaptation to physical climate risks. Together, these pillars capture the full scope of the green transition challenge — reducing the carbon intensity of existing industries, building new competitive positions in emerging green value chains, and strengthening Romanian firms’ resilience to the growing physical impacts of climate change. Several of the key constraints highlighted in the report, such as technology adoption, managerial capabilities, skills, or innovation ecosystems, are relevant across pillars and addressing them can support the private sector in mitigating the risks and seizing the opportunities of the green transition.
