We present here—in facsimile—four of his most significant articles in this field, accompanied by an introduction that places them in their historical and scientific context. What emerges is a Levi-Civita who dedicated himself to disseminating the principles of the theory of relativity, thus revealing a previously unknown aspect of his work as a scientist.
