Mozambique - Northern Urban Development Project : Additional Financing

Overview & Synopsis

The objective of the Additional Financing of the Northern Urban Development Project for Mozambique is to improve basic urban infrastructure and living conditions in selected cities in the North of Mozambique. This project paper seeks approval for a proposed AF of SDR 29.5 million (40 million dollars equivalent) from IDA CRW to: (i) address the financing gap created by the urgent needs following Tropical Cyclones Chido, Dikeledi and Jude including emergency rehabilitation of infrastructure, the restoration of basic services and infrastructure, and the promotion of climate-resilient infrastructure; (ii) complement ongoing recovery efforts from recent cyclonic events, financed by the Government; and (iii) enable the scaling-up of existing project activities to enhance impact.
