Revising the Curriculum. Positive Approaches toward Program Improvement.
Overview & Synopsis
This paper explores the idea of excellence in education and provides some suggestions of how excellence can be achieved in a vocational education program. The first part of the booklet describes the components of excellence in vocational education, such as excellent teachers; meeting the needs of students, the community, and employers; and being responsive to change. Sections of the paper propose methods of building excellence in vocational education programs by developing and maintaining advisory committees; developing faculty, administrators, and peers; developing information and curriculum; and implementing the plan. The final section focuses on communicating success (public relations). (KC)
