Overview & Synopsis

The objective of the Additional Financing (AF) of the Transport and Resilient Infrastructure Project is to (i) improve resilient connectivity in targeted areas of the Northern Metropolitan Area of San Salvador, (ii) enhance sustainable national road sector management and (iii) in case of an Eligible Crisis or Emergency, respond promptly and effectively to it. The proposed AF responds to the request of the Government of El Salvador (GoES) and aims to: (a) address the financing gap due to the shortfall in counterpart funding for the SAL38 bridge; (b) increase the budget allocated to complementary works on the access roads to the bypass and its surroundings; (c) increase the budget allocated for institutional capacity building activities; and (d) replenish the allocation to the CERC component. The AF would not change the original design of the Parent Project (PP) nor the original PDO, and the closing date will be December 28, 2029, aligned with the closing date of the original Loan.
