Overview & Synopsis

The objective of the M300 Patient Capital Facility Project for Africa is to increase access to sustainable and clean energy in Sub-Saharan Africa. There are two components to the project, the first component being financing for Distributed Renewable Energy (DRE) equity investment fund. This component will provide concessional capital to DRE investee funds which are specialized equity funds that invest in DRE companies to expand sustainable and clean energy access. The second component is the Technical Assistance (TA) and implementation support. This component will support pipeline development of financially viable investments, implementation readiness, and capacity building to enable the Fund to invest in investee funds and achieve its targets both financially and in terms of development outcomes. More specifically, second component will support activities to achieve Africa’s readiness for project implementation, including the preparation of Project Implementation Manual (PIM), FOM, and establishment of the Project Implementation Unit (PIU).
