Overview & Synopsis
The MENA Regional One Health Conference in Tunis (June 2025) brought together ministers, officials, and partners to advance the regional One Health agenda, building on progress from the May 2023 conference across 22 countries. It marked a shift from conceptual endorsement to implementation, highlighted by adoption of the Carthage Declaration. This milestone reflects strengthened regional ownership and commitment to institutionalizing multisectoral approaches aligned with the Quadripartite Joint Plan of Action. Four priorities emerged: embedding One Health in national systems, enhancing cooperation on transboundary risks, mobilizing sustainable financing, and investing in surveillance and workforce capacity, reinforcing existing country-led initiatives.
