Listening to Georgia : Social Protection
Overview & Synopsis
About one-third of households in Georgia have at least one member receiving social benefits. Coverage is not evenly distributed: it is significantly higher in rural areas, where reliance on social assistance tends to be greater. Across regions, social protection coverage varies substantially, highlighting spatial disparities in the reach of benefit programs. Some regions show much higher levels of benefit receipt than others, which may reflect demographic patterns, access to services, or targeted policy implementation.
