Ethiopia - Expressway Development Support Project : Additional Financing

Overview & Synopsis

The objective of the Additional Financing of the Expressway Development Support Project for Ethiopia is to enhance efficiency and safety in the movement of goods and people along the Zeway - Arsi Negele section of the Modjo-Hawassa development corridor, whilst strengthening the Recipient’s institutional capacity to develop and manage high-capacity highways and expressways. This project paper also includes a level 2 restructuring to (a) extend the current project closing date by 12 months, from June 30, 2025, to June 30, 2026, in order to complete the remaining activities and thereby ensure the achievement of the Project Development Objective (PDO), (b) update the results framework to reflect the extended closing date and (c) align the Result Framework with the new World Bank Group Corporate Scorecard. No changes are introduced to the project scope.
