Listening to Armenia : Migration
Overview & Synopsis
In Armenia, 4 percent of households have a family member who is currently abroad, while 23 percent have someone who migrated in the past and has since returned. Migration is most common in the Lori and Shirak regions. Men continue to dominate migration patterns, accounting for 90 percent of current migrants and 81 percent of return migrants. The relatively low share of current migrants may be partly due to the survey being conducted in winter, when seasonal migration is less common.
