Burundi - Cash for Jobs Project : Additional Financing
Overview & Synopsis
The development objective of the Cash for Jobs Project for Burundi is to strengthen management capacity, scale up safety net programs, and promote productive inclusion and access to jobs; and to provide immediate and effective response to an eligible crisis or emergency. This second additional financing (AF2) is prepared applying emergency procedures of Section III of the Investment Project Financing (IPF) Policy, Preparation of Investment Project Financing - Projects in Situations of Urgent Need of Assistance or Capacity Constraints. This is necessary given the country and regional context, characterized by fragility, conflict, and violence (FCV), low institutional capacity, and urgent need of support due to the recent significant refugee inflow. The AF2 will restructure the parent project to adjust the results framework and extend the project closing date from December 31, 2027, to December 31, 2029.
