Advancing Water Solutions to Tackle the World’s Most Pressing Water Challenges : Singapore Water Center Annual Report FY2025
Overview & Synopsis
The inaugural Singapore Water Center (SWC) Annual Report presents the center’s activities and results for fiscal year 2025 (June 19, 2024 to June 30, 2025). Launched through a partnership between the Government of Singapore and the World Bank Group, the SWC leverages Singapore’s integrated urban water management expertise to advance water security and resilience globally. Guided by four strategic pillars - policy and leadership, innovative practices and technology, innovative finance, and water monitoring - the SWC delivered five major capacity building activities on utility leadership, non-revenue water management, and flood risk management, engaging more than 300 high-level government officials, ministry directors and senior staff, water utility CEOs, managers and technical experts from the East Asia and the Pacific and South Asia regions. Flagship initiatives included co-organizing a high-level water finance roundtable that culminated in the formation of a Water Finance Working Group to facilitate mobilization of private capital for sector investments. The SWC also contributed to Singapore case studies on two World Bank Group global reports on water reuse and sanitation, showcasing practical pathways for circularity, service delivery, and climate resilience. Working with partners across government, academia, industry, and regional platforms, the SWC combines knowledge exchange, technical training, and demonstration to accelerate adoption of proven solutions.
