Foundational Learning Compact Annual Report : October 2024 - September 2025
Overview & Synopsis
The World Bank Group (WBG) has reinforced its commitment to education through a new strategic approach focused on expanding jobs and economic opportunities. Key reforms include the Corporate Scorecard, targeting a reduction in Learning Poverty and aiming to support 352 million students by 2030, and the Knowledge Bank, integrating WBG entities for greater impact. The new Education and Skills Strategy spans early learning to employment, prioritizing early childhood development, improved teaching, job-relevant skills, and access to job placement. An accompanying Implementation Plan will guide execution. Within this framework, the Foundational Learning Compact (FLC) continues to play a pivotal role in fostering collaboration, building capacity, and supporting system-level reforms to improve learning outcomes globally.
