Higher Education in the New Century: Some History, Some Challenges.
Overview & Synopsis
Information and communication technologies are changing the role of the university as sole provider of higher education. Universities lack international commercial experience, investment capital, and the capacity to innovate. Corporate providers lack experience in educational delivery and the authority to accredit and certify diplomas. Successful global educational enterprises will require partnerships between traditional universities and the new providers. (TD)
