City Scan
Overview & Synopsis
Urbanization is shaping the way risk occurs. But it also has the potential to reduce risk through better planning that addresses the growing challenges cities face, such as climate change. Yet limited and fragmented information often hinders effective urban resilience planning. The City Scan is a diagnostic tool designed to equip cities with the early insights needed to address risk by: Providing a rapid, data-driven snapshot of a cityβs demographic, economic, climate, and risk landscape; Leveraging remote sensing and geospatial analysis of any city in the world, using global datasets; and Revealing the interaction between the urban built and natural environments.
