Overview & Synopsis

The operation was screened for climate and disaster risks and found to be highly exposed while risks to the operation’s activities are moderate. Pacific Island Countries (PICs) face escalating climate threats including rising temperatures, changing precipitation patterns, intensifying storms. Climate change is profoundly impacting the health of Pacific Islanders, particularly the large portion of the population with non-communicable disease (NCD). This additional financing intends to address the additional burden of disease due to climate change and address the Pacific Island’s climate vulnerability to develop systems resilience to climate change while mitigating greenhouse gas emissions as given in the report.
