The Development of the Continuing Education Unit and Selected Applications within Virginia.
Overview & Synopsis
Since 1968 there has been a growing trend toward recognition of a uniform unit of credit for continuing education programs, the Continuing Education Unit (CEU). This study investigates the development of the CEU since 1968 and identifies trends in its application to the selected professions of Law, Medicine and Teaching in the state of Virginia. Development of the CEU is traced from the commitment to continuing education in the mid-1960s to the final development of national guidelines and the use of the CEU in Virginia. (JMF)
