Overview & Synopsis

The UHC Knowledge Hub is a new platform to support policymakers in health and finance ministries across low- and middle-income countries build the competencies and capacities required to overcome technical, operational and governance challenges. Supported by the World Bank Group, the World Health Organization and Japan’s Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, the Hub is based in Tokyo and aims to accelerate country efforts toward UHC. It leverages Japan’s expertise in health financing. It promotes investment in health financing systems as a key driver of human development, economic growth, job creation, and resilience. Working with ministries of health and finance and other stakeholders, the Hub’s goal is to improve sustainability, equity, coherence, and effectiveness in domestic and global health financing. The UHC Knowledge Hub fills a critical gap by providing a structured space where policymakers can learn from peers, collaborate on solutions, and get practical implementation support. Through this platform, countries are better equipped to advance reforms and move closer to achieving UHC.
