Rapid Social Response Multi-Donor Trust Fund (RSR) Retrospective
Overview & Synopsis
This report provides a brief overview of the achievements of the Rapid Social Response Multi-Donor Trust Fund (RSR) in the fifteen years from its inception during the global financial crisis of 2008/9 to its closing in 2024. Over these fifteen years, the RSR awarded $149.8 million in 420 grants to World Bank teams. These teams represent a wide swath of practice areas, including infrastructure, social development, gender, agriculture, education, and health, as well as social protection. RSR grants have enabled greater dialogue with clients, provided analytical and diagnostic information to strengthen program design, supported teams to innovate and take risks with new ideas, and financed the development of new tools and other public goods that have enhanced social protection and labor programming around the world.
