Overview & Synopsis

The Partnership for Infrastructure Development (PID) Multi-Donor Trust Fund (MDTF) brings together the World Bank, Development Partners (DPs) and the Palestinian Authority (PA) to improve the coverage, quality, and sustainability of infrastructure services in the West Bank and Gaza (WB&G). The PID provides financial and technical assistance to the PA for infrastructure development, related capacity building, and institutional development in the water, urban development, and energy sectors. Gender inclusion, citizen engagement, and climate resilience are key cross-cutting objectives of the PID. The PID MDTF follows the World Bank’s strict fiduciary policies and co-finances operations in both the West Bank and Gaza. However, since November 2023, projects in Gaza have been paused and no related operational activities or financial transfers are foreseen, until conditions allow and subject to prior World Bank Board endorsement.
